Coinify vs BitPay

Two of the longest-running processors in the category, both built around fiat settlement. BitPay publishes a tiered rate from 2% falling to 1%, daily settlement and a US entity. Coinify publishes a no-fee model where the customer covers the margin, weekly payouts above a minimum and a Danish entity. Pick on cadence and on who pays the spread.

Каждая строка — один критерий на общей шкале 0–10. Расстояние между точками — расхождение; там, где они совпадают, провайдеры оценены одинаково. Веса опубликованы на странице методики и меняют этот порядок, когда вы меняете их.

Who pays the margin#

BitPay charges the merchant: 2% plus a fixed amount below a stated monthly volume, descending to 1% at published thresholds. Coinify offers a choice. On the Coinify rate the merchant pays nothing and the customer pays a higher crypto amount that covers margin, processing and risk. On the market rate the customer pays less and the same margins come out of the merchant's settlement without a published percentage.

That makes the comparison depend on a setting. A Coinify merchant on the Coinify rate pays less than a BitPay merchant at any tier; one on the market rate pays an unpublished amount that may or may not.

Daily against weekly#

BitPay settles fiat daily to a bank account as a standard term. Coinify processes payouts every Wednesday when the balance exceeds 250 EUR or 0.01 BTC, with a 0.0001 BTC fee on Bitcoin payouts and a wire fee on international transfers.

For a merchant with steady volume the weekly cadence is a cash-flow question rather than a problem. For a small merchant it can mean a balance sitting below the minimum for weeks, which the BitPay daily term avoids.

Onboarding and verticals#

BitPay requires business and identity verification and states that higher fees apply to high-risk industries without naming them. Coinify runs a documented KYB sign-up flow and, as a regulated Danish entity, will not skip it. Neither publishes a timeline.

Both are the kind of processor a bank recognises, which is the reason to choose either over a lighter provider and the reason a merchant in a sensitive vertical should ask before applying.

Assets#

BitPay publishes fifteen assets across six networks including XRP and Bitcoin Cash. Coinify's list is short and uncounted, and the networks named publicly are few. Neither attempts breadth, and a merchant whose customers pay stablecoins on Tron should confirm coverage with both.

For a Bitcoin-first merchant the row is close to a tie.

Integrations and features#

BitPay documents mass payouts, recurring billing, point of sale and invoicing, and the card records its platform integrations as not disclosed. Coinify lists WooCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop and OpenCart, documents invoicing through payment buttons, and does not describe payouts, recurring or point of sale.

A platform paying people out reads the BitPay card. A shop on one of the four named carts reads the Coinify card and finds its plugin.

What each does not publish#

BitPay does not publish conversion or payout cost as separate lines, and the high-risk surcharge is unstated. Coinify does not publish the market-rate margin, the asset count or the international wire fee. Both cards are above the publication threshold because the rest is either stated or checked.

The two unpublished numbers that matter are BitPay's surcharge and Coinify's margin, and both are one email away.

Where this pair lands#

BitPay for a merchant who wants daily fiat, a published tier schedule and a US entity, and can carry a 2% entry rate until volume brings it down. Coinify for a European merchant content with weekly euro payouts who would rather the customer carried the margin.

Both have been doing this for over a decade, which in this category is its own kind of disclosure.

Вопросы, которые задают мерчанты

Which one is cheaper for the merchant?

On the Coinify-rate setting, Coinify: the merchant pays no processing fee and the customer covers the margin. BitPay charges the merchant from 2% descending to 1% by volume. On Coinify's market-rate setting the merchant pays an unpublished margin, and the answer depends on it.

How often does each pay out?

BitPay daily to a bank account as a standard term. Coinify weekly on Wednesdays once the balance exceeds 250 EUR or 0.01 BTC.
